Revelstoke Nighttime Becomes a Canvas with the LUNA Festival

This is the crown jewel for visual seekers. After dark, downtown Revelstoke shifts into a massive, glowing playground of light, shadow, and digital projections

LUNA FEST |  3 DAYS OF NOCTURNAL ART | DOWNTOWN REVELSTOKE |

SEPT 25 | LUNA SOUND   •   SEPT 26 | LUNA ARTS – FREE   •   SEPT 27 |  LUNAVERSITY – FREE

For three days each September, the mountain air of British Columbia carries a different kind of electricity. In the heart of Revelstoke, familiar storefronts, quiet alleyways, and public squares shed their daytime identities to become a living, breathing canvas.

The LUNA Festival is returning from September 25 to 27, 2026, offering an immersive deep dive into contemporary creativity, soundscapes, and visual wonder.

Built around the conceptual exploration of “The Art of Resistance,” this year’s program invites audiences to look closer at how human strength and resilience echo through modern expression. Rather than locking art inside a traditional gallery, LUNA pushes everything out into the open air.

A Weekend Divided into Three Unique Chapters

To truly absorb what LUNA offers, it helps to view the weekend as a three-part journey, each day bringing a completely distinct atmosphere to the town:

Friday, Sept 25  | LUNA Sound

The weekend sparks to life with an energetic showcase of rhythm and performance. Scattered across three distinct venues in the downtown core, LUNA Sound curates an eclectic musical landscape. Tickets for the opening night go live on the official website this August.

Saturday, Sept 26 | LUNA Arts

This is the crown jewel for visual seekers. After dark, downtown Revelstoke shifts into a massive, glowing playground of light, shadow, and digital projections. Best of all, this sprawling open-air exhibition is entirely free, encouraging wanderers to stumble upon unexpected sculptures, hypnotic projections, and interactive art pieces around every corner.

Sunday, Sept 27 | LUNAversity

Closing out the weekend, the focus shifts inward toward community collaboration and shared knowledge. Completely open to the public, LUNAversity acts as a hub for creator-led talks, hands-on workshops, and collaborative sessions that let visitors engage directly with the creative process.

An Unmatched Mountain Experience

What sets LUNA apart isn’t just the caliber of talent it attracts; it’s the sheer intimacy of the setting. Walking under the crisp autumn stars with glowing projections bouncing off historic brick facades creates a rare atmosphere. It bridges the gap between high-concept contemporary art and a welcoming community gathering.

Whether you’re securing your pass for Friday’s multi-stage music marathon, losing track of time among Saturday’s glowing installations, or learning something new on Sunday, it’s a brilliant excuse to head to the mountains.
